FAQs

If you have any more questions about our high chair straps, our team is here to help. Check out our answers to the most common concerns about the five-point safety harness below.

Since this safety harness offers both three and five anchor points, you have options when securing your child to their high chair and ensuring their comfort. However you choose to utilize the high chair straps, we recommend always buckling the shoulder and groin straps. These are the most important areas, as they prevent your child from sliding down and out of the chair or standing up in it.

The three-point harness is the current safety standard. However, we prefer to anticipate the needs of every type of child. Calmer babies and older children do really well with just three points of contact, but if your little one is on the slippery side — or they really hate their time in the high chair — five contact points offer more security and stability for parents who need it.

With the extra two straps around the middle of their bodies, children aren’t able to slip out sideways. These straps are also useful for little ones who get wild with waving hands and throwing baby plates and bowls. The straps limit their motion just enough to maintain a calmer, neater environment.

When you use our straps on the high chair, aim for snug instead of tight. Your little one should be able to shift and move pretty comfortably without slipping out or leaning forward. Test the tightness of the straps by slipping your fingers between the baby’s body and the harness. If you can fit two fingers comfortably, you’ve strapped them in just right.

While this depends on your child, generally, you should use the high chair harness with 5 points until your child reaches between 18 and 24 months. At around age five, most children are ready to transition completely away from the high chair and harness baby gear. However, this will depend on the height, weight, and temperament of your child.
