The back and hip carry positions shouldn’t be used until your child is 9 months or 10 months of age.

Place the baby carrier around your waist so it sits low on your hips. Keep it snug by adjusting the straps accordingly.

First, remove the foam insert using the hidden zipper on the bottom of the carrier. Machine wash the carrier using warm water and mild detergent. Place it in a separate load and use the gentle cycle. Hang the fanny pack baby seat out to dry. Don’t use the dryer.

You can use a baby seat on your hip when your little one has strong neck and head control, and can sit with some stability. This is often around 6 months. But it’s different for every baby. Some may be ready at 4 months, others at 7 months.
